it's because your'e searching web addresses for email addresses it's like searching "places of interest" for a "home address" (does not compute) you need a search engine that searches for email addresses and not web addresses and I've never looked for one such search engine so...

You have been attacked by a Trojan, and your computer has been turned into a Zombi. You need to run a good anti virus program and a couple of good anti spyware programs.
If this virus is embedded to deep, you may need to reinstall your Operating System and all of your programs.
Following is a list of sites that offer free anti virus and anti spyware software. Don't be fooled by the word "free", this stuff work very well.
All of the following are free, and work very well.
Note: It is best to run at least 2 anti spyware programs, but never run more then 1 anti virus to eliminate conflicts.

Reply:Well the best way to fight spam is not opening the messages, not even with the preview. Spam messages report the spammer when opened and it shows him that the address is still in use so he will bomb your email with lots and lots of spam.
Try flagging them and/or marking them as spam if you have them in your inbox. Delete them right after. Never open spam or suspicious messages that you know you will never recieve and/or you are not expecting. Try also increasing safety features. Spam is a headache to everyone this days but this is the only way to fight against them.

This has been a virus behavior of attachments that get opened.
Do some serious scans and clean up your system.
In the future, Never open attachments. From anyone. And don't get your friends in the habit of opening attachments from you.
Get a website (plenty of free ones available) and post anything you'd normally attach there; then send the URL to your associate for them to see whatever it is.
Opening attachments is at best a 50/50 chance of it being what you expect.

Save yourself some time....open a gmail account and forward it all over! I spent two days reading through all these, modifying settings, turning on and off features etc and nothing worked. At some point they will realize the postings on this feature are increasing and maybe address it.

Different things seem to work for different people. Why do I always get invitations to different Yahoo groups in my email? I only use Yahoo for answers?
The only thing I use Yahoo for is Yahoo Answers but I get all kinds of invitations to join various Yahoo groups in my email that is linked up with my Y!A account. I also have my settings set to "no emails" and "no messages" from Yahoo Answerers.

You can not delete the ads that is what pays for everyone to have free yahoo accounts. The only way to not have them is to sigh up for yahoo plus which you pay for and you will not have them. If it is pop-ups you are having make sure you enable your pop-up blocker. Hope this helps!!!

That prompted me to look for solutions since I don't like to get spied upon, and I found several good solutions!

Suddenly (8/22/08) copies of my sent email are no longer kept. Drafts of composed mail can only be a very few characters chopping compositions to pieces. In fact nothing is GOOD about it any more. Is there a way to go past Yahoo Security to get my email address back?
I have already talked to Yahoo Password by phone and after not answering my zipcode correctly they just send me to Account Security which you can only contact via email. I am having no luck getting back into my email. Who else can I contact?

I have a few yahoo emails and I consistently get these annoying spam emails with one of them. Every time I get one I click "mark as spam", yet I keep getting them at least twice a week.

Do not even think about unsubscribing to such a spam mail, it will only result in even more spam!
How to fight spam and scams:
#1: Yahoo has a spamguard filter, but only if multiple users report an address as spam will it be treated as such by the filter.
You have a personal list for blocking addresses in spam options. Anything you mark as spam in Mail classic will be added to that list, in New Yahoo mail adding addresses to the list has to be done manually. If you ever receive anything from those addresses in the future, it will be deleted automatically, you won't even notice when you got some more crap from them. One problem though: the list of blocked addresses is limited to 500 and spammers often change their address. So you must sometimes delete some of the older blocked addresses to make room for new ones.

How to fight spam and scams:
#1: Yahoo has a spamguard filter, but only if multiple users report an address as spam will it be treated as such by the filter.
You have a personal list for blocking addresses in spam options. Anything you mark as spam in Mail classic will be added to that list, in New Yahoo mail adding addresses to the list has to be done manually. If you ever receive anything from those addresses in the future, it will be deleted automatically, you won't even notice when you got some more crap from them. One problem though: the list of blocked addresses is limited to 500 and spammers often change their address. So you must sometimes delete some of the older blocked addresses to make room for new ones.

Yes, Chelsea, there is e-mail in Mexico. I live in Mexico, my address is via gmail.com and I can access it anywhere in the world. The same for yahoo and any other server. In fact as someone mentioned, there are internet cafes on almost every block in Mexico which charge $1-$2 per hour for Internet connection so ANYONE in Mexico can e-mail you anytime even if they don't have an Internet connection in their home!
In fact a couple of years ago when I was up in Houston, it was MUCH harder to find Internet facilities than here in Mexico where I live.
If you have the Internet address of someone in Mexico and they have yours, you and the other person should have NO problem at all.........

to avoid this, u can either save the pic at a particular place (Desktop, My Documents etc) and then view it. you can also delete the temporary internet files periodically.

if using your Yahoo E-mail, it should just be sent as a normal attachment. Just scroll to the bottom of the message and click on the link (which will be the name of your Vid) and download it to you computer.

I have transfered my contacts over to my new phone, but photos and text messages are non-transferable.

Occasionally, my computer can't reach my email server. Microsoft outlook won't send/receive successfully, and if I try to go directly to the server via IE, or Chrome, it shows that the link is broken. During this, all the other computers on my network can reach the website, I have to go another computer and download the emails there. Any ideas?

However you said the other pc can send email, so it's not the server problem or the link between the server and other pc, so it probably is your segment of network that had problem.
Also, outlook is not dead all the time, so it can't be software problem, unless it's virus related.
In most case you need to check the network cable that link up the problem pc and the network, it could also be a sign that the network card is failing, so it works only intermittently, try to put another network card in to see how it works. Do a full system scan on the pc for virus just to make sure too.

I received a spam mail from my own email address. Has my email account been hijacked?
This is the first time that has happened.
Lately I have noticed that some mails (to addresses that I am sure are correct) go through okay, and others don't. Either I get one of those undeliverable notices, or the person I am sending it to just never gets it. If I resend send the same mail later on it usually goes through fine. Same thing receiving mails. Could I have been hijacked? What should I do?

It's not you that infected it's one of your friends. Let me explain
Most spam is sent from infected PCs, but the malware tries to hide the identity of the infected computer. To that end, it spoofs (forges) the Sender address.
A little more detail: The malware searches the infected PC's hard drive for e-mail addresses and sends spam out to them. But it also uses some of these addresses for spoofing purposes. So if you get spam from yourself, that means someone with your e-mail address has an infected computer.
What can you do about it? Not much. But if only a few people have your e-mail address, you might try letting them know about the problem. One of them has an infected PC.
Reply:Spoofed emails are easy to create; the fact you got one from "yourself" doesn't necessarily indicate your email has been hijacked. You could check your Sent folder to see what you have sent. Any number of things can cause an undeliverable email; network issues, server issues, or a wrong address. A person won't receive emails if their Inbox is too full; maybe it's an issue on the recipient's end. For a sanity check, you could try emailing from a different email account to see if you continue to notice the same issues.

I would advise you perform a full scan at least at your own comnputer,
and download some anti-spam mail application to prevent this.
Based on my last research some of the infomation the worms gather is from the internet explorer setting and cache.

In my hotmail account, I get a lot of emails that say undeliverable mail, but I am not the one sending it out. It shows mostly russian lettering in the subject line. I haven't opened any of it being afraid that it might contain a virus. I would hate that it be someone using my email.

Reply:By all means check your machine for virus's %26amp; spyware. That's basic security. Check out avast.com for "Avast!" anti-virus which has a free for personal use version and also see lavasoft.com and look for Ad-Aware Free, a free for personal use version. Avast is very diligent about keeping itself up-to-date, and has a cute, but ultimately annoying characteristic of loudly announcing "Virus database has been updated!" Fortunately, you can easily turn off the announcements. I have no financial connection with these entities and I'm referring you to the free editions in any case.
On the other hand, the cause of your unexplained bounced emails may be slightly less nefarious. Someone may simply be putting your address in the Reply-To: field of their spam emails, or even hacking them into the Sender: field, so that the email bounces for undeliverable mail go to you and don't end up clogging their mailbox. Unfortunately for you and the rest of us, our email addresses are frequently available to be harvested from any number of web sources. They are not only used to send us stuff we don't want, but to help the spammers avoid getting stuff they don't want. It's "slightly less" because it doesn't involve compromising your machine, but only "slightly" because the underlying purpose is as nefarious as it ever is in such cases and it ends up wasting your time, disk space and bandwidth.
Just a couple of years ago, I had the same thing happening. Dozens of bounced emails that I knew I wasn't sending were landing in my emailbox. I checked my machine thoroughly and found it to be clean. I asked around, just as you did, and got the same answer I'm giving you now. Your own Internet Service Provider will likely tell you the same. Some ISP's have a free-for-members security suite they will steer you to.

This is the first time that has happened.
Lately I have noticed that some mails (to addresses that I am sure are correct) go through okay, and others don't. Either I get one of those undeliverable notices, or the person I am sending it to just never gets it. If I resend send the same mail later on it usually goes through fine. Same thing receiving mails. Could I have been hijacked? What should I do?
